This is where the prices increase just to make a 2021 new home "Nice". After selecting important options it doesn't change that the home is still built with no integrity and cut corners. KB home is a lower level builder with lower grade contractors and cheapest material.
When looking at the home, it looks like a duplex home. With front entrances in such so close proximity; there is no privacy. Our intention was to never walk from our contract, as we really liked the floor plan of this home, but in the end, we are not comfortable living with no privacy in the front entrance. December 28, 2021 builder sent out the flooring company to complete their hollow tile... Within 4 months in, the pipes exploded in the wall in the kitchen. The home is under a short 2 year warranty.

The reason we made our decision to cancel our purchase of this home was due to our front entrance of the home being within feet from the front entrance of the home plan next door. We were never informed that the home plan next door would also have a front entrance that would be side by side next to ours. Of all the homes in this neighborhood that are being built, our home is the only home that has adjacent front door entrances... All other homes are separated by driveways.
I'm not an artistic person so her help was well received. In the walk thru there were minor things that needed to be resolved. Most have been corrected and a few are on "back order". But again, that is a result of our market place. I've now been in my home about 5 weeks and I cannot be happier.

The design center was also very overwhelming as I'm at home looking everything over trying to decide what I wanted, needed and could live without since I was on a budget. We own a home built by KB and we hate it. The quality has impacted our plumbing since day one. The builders had to send someone back to properly brace our bathtub because it was literally moving or shifting anytime someone stepped in.
They verbally sell a good product, but they build a terrible home with cheap materials. As an example of what kind of things you are told... During a walk through the doorframe had drips of pain and I was told that big drips like that always happen when you paint by hand and that is just the way it is. My closet doors have about a 2 inch gap from the floor and I was told that was because I upgraded to a 9 foot ceiling... I have been a homeowner before but I have never purchased a "new home".

We have received great service from Jenee and Jennifer at sales, Jay at loan processing and Alex at construction throughout the buying process. Even after moving in, they are all available to answer any question and made the process easy.
If I could only go back in time and smack my self across the face before I signed those papers. Literally every piece of my home has been fixed, touched up, replaced, ect. This has to be the most amateurish job that's ever been done before. They pick trades from the bottom of the barrel.

In November of 2020 I decided to start the process of buying a home with KB homes and the process hasn't been stellar. I know as a steward of this company, I'm sure that you would want to know about a process that hasn't been the best. We signed a purchase contract with KB Homes on a model home at 26 Rio Grande Lane, Willow Spring, NC on May 29th, 2022. At the time of our signing, we were informed by the KB sales agent, that the model home would be completed by the end of August, around the same time we would be closing on our own home.

Refusing certain consumers’ warranty repair requests due to a lack of maintenance by the homeowner when the structure’s problems were attributable to defective construction. Don’t trust ConsumerAffairs website, as KB Home is paying to submit reviews they have collected. Funny they were horrible reviews until KB Home started paying. My neighbors estimate is $32,000 just for the HVAC issues, let alone all the other major defects.
Its been 3 months for me...Refund 4 KB flip flops with there contracts to fit there needs and can never... Several attempts to repair roof since purchase of home. Roof has leaked since the purchase of home. Several homeowners with fouundation problems. The 1st Home we was a one story K B home..bad water leak in kitchen ruind my floor and both bathroom..
When your home starts to fall apart, by that time too bad nothing is under warranty. KB Homes is amazing to build and buy with! They showed us a wide selection of options within and outside of our budget to see differences of course and what we do and don't want. While also making sure we stay within what we could do which was awesome. They showed us great examples digitally and in person of what you can do with all their home layouts. They go over the whole process from beginning to end as far as expectations and do's and do not's which were highly appreciated.
However we have a leak on the ceiling of a bedroom which cost us several thousands of dollars to repair drywall, insulation, and paint. We also need to replace about half of our roof another $8000 because KB home used the cheapest roofing materials available that still passed code. Our insurance will not pay because they say the roof leak is due to builder error. KB home will not pay because our roof warranty is only good for a couple of years. Add onto that just shoddy workmanship such as the deadbolt on a door not lining up with the hole it is supposed to go into, or crooked corners and uneven measuring above door sills. They do things as cheaply and as quickly as they can to make a profit.
Utilities in neighbourhood were not set up. Yet they still took out money without a second thought. All the while keeping us in the dark regarding what we were about to go through.
