I was pre approved 3 additional times without even requesting to be. The system is calibrated to make more money off every house. For a $242,000 home became $300,000 with still a basic floor plan!
Some decide not to do anything because it’s not worth the trouble. Well, I’ll go to any trouble so save someone from the trouble I had to deal with and the emotional impact it have caused us. This goes beyond just turning a blind eye to their deceptive cruel business method, playing with homebuyers like it’s a game for them. I closed on my home last month on the 29th and 90% of the issues have not been resolved... The fact this is how this company does business is beyond me. The lack of attention to detail and continuous spewing of excuses is sickening.
KB Home
Scott was new, but exceptionally helpful and caring. Prior to Scott, we addressed multiple concerns that were not addressed in a timely fashion and in some instances, these concerns were attempted to be covered up. For example, the zip board was significantly damaged in several areas in the basement; therefore, compromising the structural soundness/integrity of our home. When addressed with construction staff, we were assured the boards would be replaced. Instead, the construction team placed siding and internal insulation to cover up these damaged areas.

First and foremost, from the very beginning I specifically asked the salesperson is my earnest money refundable up to design studio app? Their answer was "of course absolutely!". I specifically asked because what I read in contract " you only have 5 days". So many things were unclear about my home up until studio app.

We believed this timeline was reasonable... Their finish contractors do very sloppy work and KB Home will not come out after closing to do followup work. In our development 15 town homes have been or will soon be completed since I closed. Walk throughs began two weeks before closing, another one day of closing and one four weeks after closing. Only one item out of 30 has been taken care of. Save yourself a lot of time and anguish.
I have built multiple homes and I have to say that building with KB has been the worst experience. My house was not even cleaned on the day I closed. I have now lived in the house 6 months and still have outstsnding items.
Is KB Home a good builder?
It don’t matter when you signed up, if your name don’t get picked in their drawing then you have to wait until the next drawing. Sometimes, the newcomers can get picked while people who have waited weeks don’t get picked in the drawing. I could continue but it would be a never end history, please don´t buy a a kb home.

The customer service aspect was exceptional. Rene was also exceptional with helping navigate our lending process. We had transitions of construction staff throughout the building process.
When your home starts to fall apart, by that time too bad nothing is under warranty. KB Homes is amazing to build and buy with! They showed us a wide selection of options within and outside of our budget to see differences of course and what we do and don't want. While also making sure we stay within what we could do which was awesome. They showed us great examples digitally and in person of what you can do with all their home layouts. They go over the whole process from beginning to end as far as expectations and do's and do not's which were highly appreciated.
My first meeting with Mallory was on a virtual call. Right there she took away 90% of the stress I was feeling. We listed what I wanted and I spent the next couple weeks prioritizing what was and was not a "have to have". I then met with Mallory at the design center. She took me through all the steps and never made me feel pressure to add anything that I did not feel was important. She gave great advice on coloring, what would and would not work together.
I closed on my home last month on the 29th and 90% of the issues have not been resolved due to either laziness or blatant disregard for other people money and time. Kb homes refuses to fix ongoing issues and their warranty guy Mark F is a liar. We have a sewer gas leak and he came to the house to smell it, he smelled it, sent out General Plumbing. Their tech fills drain line with water, puts a camera in the drain line and air bubbles appear indicating a water leak.
