New Glen Oaks Nursing Home
If I could I would give this place a ZERO. My grandfather had a horrible experience. He would cry everytime we left and come to find out someone was hitting him.
It has been over an hour since I requested to speak with the doctor. It took me over a week of requesting he be put on morphine for them to finally listen and do it. It also took a public anxiety attack with tears of pain for them to finally listen to me and give him the morphine. This is supposed to be end of life care and I have to cry and fight for my grandpa to go in peace peacefully in no pain? Furthermore, my grandpa was denied Medicaid so the owner has the right to openly walk into my grandpa's room on his death bed trying to get me to pay his bill...? They call my grandmother repeatedly, who we've already explained is going through chemo and stage four cancer regarding his medical bill at the pavilion..?

I called three times before I was able to get through, once I got through I told the gentleman I was looking to see how my grandfather was. His response was "Who's your grandfather?" with a bit of an attitude, but I let it go because my focus was my grandfather so I gave him the room information and the last name and he put me on hold for 5 minutes. He got back on and asked me the last name again and then put me on hold once more. After 2 minutes a female picked up the phone and said "They told you he expired right?". Just like that no sympathy no compassion, they said it as if he was a milk carton that went rotten. This goes to show how they care for patients here.

There 3 time slot a day and you cannot stay in there with your family member the whole day. Also the staffing is extremely unorganized. I highly suggest you getting there an hour early, because there is a wait time to just fill out paper work, getting covid tested and a pass to go in.
